With 'Truth' - it is either true or not? And while there can be at times - to be an imaginary line that seems to separate the two - this can be said to be ever changing as we learn more and more knowledge as time goes by.
People do not like to question - what they believe in? This would be true of the majority. But any student of the truth - will know - they must keep an open mind - so as to be able to take on board new information - for consideration. And acceptance - should it then be proven this is the case - that it is true after all.
I do know what it is like - to read all of what a particular writer has written - and then believe it is true - but then later on - you have to admit, that it is not likely to be true after all. Maybe it's an experience that everyone has to go through - and does. That this is a common life experience to have.
What is true - should always be verified elsewhere - that you need the confirmation of details from other sources to endorse what is true.
Why this fixation on the 'truth'? Well, you don't want to have to change your mind every 5 (or 10? or 20?) years - do you? And go back on what you believed in?
It has been said - That if you follow your heart, and mind - you can't go wrong. Is this your 'spirit'?
This is indeed true for most people - to trust in what their inner feelings and heart tells them. We all need to feel comfortable with our belief system - and what goes on with your mind.
What should follow next - would be the details --- but this is where I'll most likely differ from yours?
That in general - all of the above - makes absolute sense?
Over the decades - one does grow more and more aware - and becomes aware of their own true nature?
I think this is the case - with my own personal life journey - that with some decades of 'living' behind you, you are more confident of what do you know and why? That you had to ask some very hard questions - and demand - proper answers to them.
This is what I know and see.
That a lot of what we think we know - is due to 'programming' as such. This is what the mass public has always been subjected to.
Have we not? Religions do it to us all of the time - and perhaps this is their sole purpose? Even those (our teachers, or whatever) who do it - may not fully realise that in their promotion of their teachings - they are essentially programming us in the process. And that when you have become a 'follower' or believer - that their programming has worked on you. This may sound rather cynical - but it is what it is.
For some - 'faith' works - but others know that faith by itself is simply not enough - because if faith works - then so can any other belief?
And others may say - If it works - why knock it?
But in the interest of 'truth' - wouldn't you want a consistent message passed onto the next generation - instead of just muddling through - and not correcting what needs correction?
I have been trying to prepare the reader for what is to come - that where truth is concerned - it is a very touchy subject indeed.
People who do not 'test' it - ask the most obvious question(s) - and then seek adequate answers to them. Seem to be following in the footsteps of others - and put their faith in those who already follow it?
That they don't exercise critical thinking - but become part of this new crowd they'll belong to.
