It is certainly not an easy task to be sure of whether something is true or not?
Everyone has their own views on this or that subject - and we all have different sources and understanding of the material involved.
I'll use as an example - two writers I have read - one a lot and another not as much to show how you can be led astray.
Lobsang Rampa had a great following in his day when he had a lot of books published which come under the subject of New Age material. His first book was The Third Eye' published back in 1956 - followed shortly thereafter with 2 further books - this trilogy supposedly being his life story. His first book was about life in Tibet before the Second World War. At the time of publication - little was known about Tibet in the West. And so it was astonishing for a book to be written in detail about life in Tibet. The back story is that it was written by an Englishman - Henry Cyrill Hoskins. It was in his third book he mentions how this came to be - that he took over the body of this Englishman. There was something like 14? books he wrote - ending in the 70s? He covered a whole range of material - especially covering metaphysics as such. He did write about the history of this Earth - or rather it's early history in which Gardeners of the Earth helped humankind develop here. He mentioned an Aladdin's cave of wonders being in Tibet of wonderous machines and the like - hidden away. I did follow up on various topics/sources of information he made reference to - the incident which led to the Philadelphia Experiment - a secret US Navy experiment that went terribly wrong. A story about Jesus making it to Japan, where he died.
It was over a period of time afterwards - that I had my doubts over what he has written - that Tibetans had this link to secret knowledge - his version of events that our solar system went through. I did not doubt what he said about the human aura - because of verification from other sources about this phenomena. I just felt he had a few red herrings within his material - and this slowly grew as you became aware of them.
Taking over another person's body - is not something new, although he is probably the first writer to mention of this. Ruth Montgomery referred to this as being 'walk-ins'. Though it's difficult to explain how did he write so much material - and make it seem to be so credible? I did feel like his later books were simply rehashes of what he had written earlier. Very much a repetition. I eventually was turned off - because of the inconsistencies that were present. I did not read - what is suppose to be his first book - that remained unpublished - 'My Trip to Venus' that later was available on the Internet. To see what that was about.
Another writer I started reading into - and did like at first. Was Delores Cannon - who gets her information via Hypnotic regression as such. Here first 2 books were interesting reading - but the book that turned me off - was her 'Jesus and the Essenes' book - which ends with the resurrection - keeping that concept intact. I never really could accept this as being 'fact' and part of the Jesus story. I never made up my mind about the Essenes - whether they were of notable standing, etc. This book appeals to those who stand by Christianity and in those who believe in the traditional story of Jesus.
I was a huge fan of the Jesus Christ Superstar rock opera - in which it retells the Jesus story to a modern audience.
For those who want to read the most believable story about Jesus - I think should look up information about the Talmud Jmmanuel.

The Billy Meier connection to this is - that he helped rediscover this. Sadly the original manuscript has been destroyed - and it is a translation of it, that has survived. I think there's 2 versions of this in circulation. The first would be the early translation. The later more accurate version is around - though I haven't got a copy of that one yet. I don't think a great deal has changed between the versions? Just a few details here and there?
There is some evidence that backs up this version of the Jesus story - and it does make more sense - generally.
If you thought that Christianity never really made any kind of sense - you'll be right. Not only with the explanation about how this Universe works - but also it's version of the Jesus story. Billy Meier does fill in a lot of gaps which helps explain the mess that is passed onto the public today.
And there are huge gaps in our knowledge. We have a large gap about human civilisations that existed here on this planet - and elsewhere in our solar system.
Note - although Billy Meier may be likened to Lobsang Rampa - there is a huge difference between the two. Meier has provided various evidence to support his claims as a UFO contactee - his clear, sharp UFO photos taken back in the early 80s' are the still the sharpest, clearest photos taken, ever. He has taken some movie footage, had some metal sample. There's the story of him shooting a laser gun off - and photos showing the path that a particular shot took - and the account of a one armed man able to type at speed on a typewriter at which he has produced a wealth of material. He now accepts the label of being a prophet in our modern times - but was reluctant to accept this label. He brings forth the old material anew for our modern times, without the distortion of centuries.
My desire to know more about our ancient past has not diminished at all. UnchartedX.com is a good source of videos showing advanced technology being present in ancient Egypt - and Brien Foerster in his videos show you the same kind of thing but present in South America. Physical hard evidence is there for all to see - why have the academics not acknowledged this at all? Egyptologists today - don't like to admit that they got their dating all wrong? If the Great Pyramid dates back around 70,000 years - according to Billy Meier - it upsets the known timeline immensely. Meier also mentions that other Great Pyramids exist elsewhere. When another is found - then Meier will be taken seriously for once.
The evidence for 'machining' in ancient times was always always present in the world. Visitors to ancient sites simply had to take close up photos to show how odd this particular example is - that it cannot be done with hand tools as such. How even the likes of Erik von Daniken should have been able to include these examples in his best seller books 'Chariots of the Gods' and 'Return to the Stars'. You can find these on Youtube - how these examples are just sitting out, exposed to the elements - yet showing straight lines, smooth faces and radii which cannot have been done by hand. That you needed power tools - of the likes of today - or even more advanced to produce these artefacts. Most are in a broken condition, a few remain intact - just strewn about - waiting for someone aware enough to notice them.
